Cholesterol
Did you know that the body makes all the cholesterol it needs? This is quite evident when we look at God's original diet, which only contains plant foods. Cholesterol is made in the liver and is found only in animal products. Many Americans are taking medications for elevated blood cholesterol, hypercholesterolemia, which are both expensive and may cause serious side effects, including liver, muscle damage and death.
A recent study publish in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition ( 2005 Jun; 81(6): 1351-8) revealed that plant fiber, reduce the LDL (bad) cholesterol in diabetic and non diabetic patients but by 15.1% and 26.8% respectively. So if you want to help prevent heart disease associated with hypercholesterolemia, follow God's best diet and includes large amounts of beans, vegetables and grains.
